A leading business in the north east is looking to appoint a VAT & Customs Accountant to their team in Newcastle. Offering an excellent in-house opportunity my client is looking for those with current experience in either VAT and or Customs who can take responsibility for the following tasks;
* Responsibility including reconciliation for their mainframe and duty system with regards to their inventory.
* Classification of inventory.
* Manage the statutory daily and monthly compliance reporting to the HMRC.
* Issuing Customs clearances.
* Reconciliations and impact analysis of customs duty, VAT and intrastat.
* Manage the import and export process and the effect upon duty.
* Capture and report accurate financial information to the business in respect of duty and VAT..
* Understand the business processes in order to suggest potential opportunities for simplification.
My client is looking for someone who is either qualified (CTA) or qualified by experience and can bring all if not some of the above experience along with excellent analytical, communication, presentation and organisational skills.
