The role:
Based within Ashtead Group plc's London head office, this key role will assume full responsibility for managing the organisation's UK tax issues as well as working closely with the tax team in the US to manage the overall group tax position. This exciting position will provide you with a high level of visibility across the head office function. It is envisaged that your time will be equally split between compliance, reporting and advisory work. You will:
* Manage the Group's consolidated tax position through tax reporting and tax planning.
* Prepare, submit and agree corporate tax computations and VAT returns for all UK entities with HMRC to ensure compliance with UK corporate income tax requirements.
* Maintain an overview of the US corporate tax position which will involve gaining an understanding of key issues therein.
* Oversight of VAT and PAYE, including liaising with HMRC.
About you:
In return for the opportunity to work in a supportive and forward thinking environment, you will be:
* ACA qualified corporate tax specialist already operating at Manager level (or equivalent).
* Strong technical skills in UK tax compliance and reporting.
* Experience of liaising with overseas operations and/or international tax exposure would be advantageous.
* Able to operate autonomously with a "hands on" approach to achieving objectives and strong communication skills.
