UK CORPORATE TAX MANAGER – OIL & GAS

SALARY - £80,000 to £90,000 per annum

The Role:
Working as a Tax Manager within this North Sea entity your role will be to manage the overall function for the UK tax business at a corporate level. This role will provide a combination of both tax compliance and advisory work.
Responsibilities include:
• Managing all areas for the tax audit administration, including coordination of response to, and negotiation with, HMRC on tax matters related to the above
• Advising on Acquisition and disposal tax issues (asset and equity)
• Reviewing and signing-off for half year and full year tax projections and financial tax reporting
• Supervising and reviewing the tax accounts in annual statutory account reporting
• Managing post-transactions for negotiated sale and purchase agreements and tax covenants incl. supervision of claims under tax warranties and tax indemnities
• Providing assistance to the Copenhagen based Group Headquarter on UK taxation matters and group taxation matters
• Representing the business on Industry related fiscal forums; UKOG, OTAC, UKOITC
• Analysing new business opportunities, both oil and gas assets and corporate
• Managing and coaching a small team of staff – including periodic performance appraisals
• Supervising and developing direct UK tax reports
• Producing Treasury representations to project the corporate view to Governmental Bodies on Fiscal regime.
• Researching and monitoring HM Treasury Budget changes, potential tax legislation and court developments with a view to impact on UK business activities
Applications must be supported by the following:
• CA or CTA qualification
• Strong Corporation Tax experience; preferably also Petroleum Revenue Tax experience
• Exposure to Group and Individual entity tax reporting, including tax accounting and deferred taxation
• Transaction tax - Asset and equity
• Tax planning/structuring
• Commercial acumen
• Team player, Effective communicator.
• Ability to work under pressure and multitasking

• Ability to look at wider picture
• Good communication skills
