The successful candidates will demonstrate the following:
Legal background with tax specialization and working experience in taxation; or accounting background with tax specialization and working experience in taxation.
Working experience in tax consulting (law firm or accounting/tax advisory firm)
Level of experience: minimum 4 years, preferably 6-7 years upwards. It is expected the candidate has a good understanding of common international business transactions and related terminology, typical tax issues for international business transactions, and a heartfelt interest in the practice of taxation.
Excellent English language skills, but native speaker not required.
Particularly important: good commercial skills, notably willing and able to play an important role in business development supported by the Partner and Firm?s efforts in this field
Main focus will be on corporate taxation, particularly advice on market entry of new investors. This role will work in close coordination with the current tax team of the Firm to provide international quality advice on Cambodian/Lao tax implications of investment projects. Other assignments cover a wide range of taxation issues, including VAT, customs, and personal income tax of expatriate employees. In Cambodia, tax controversy and government consulting are an important part of the Firm?s activity.
Experience in managing and developing a corporate/personal income tax compliance practice would be a plus for both Cambodia and Laos.
For Laos, familiarity with taxation of the mining industry is a plus.
