The Real Estate practice in Toronto North is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join their growing and dynamic practice. This office is the largest and most prominent real estate practice in Canada.
As a Senior Tax Manager, you will be responsible for providing industry knowledge and technical expertise to our diverse real estate client base. This position involves advising public and privately held companies, REITs, tax-exempt investors, and Canadian and international real estate funds with their tax planning and compliance needs. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced and dynamic team-based environment to be the main client service advisor for your clients. You will provide advice on tax planning strategies for acquisitions, divestitures, partnership and joint venture arrangements, domestic and cross-border financings and inbound/outbound investments. In addition, you will actively participate in proposals for prospective clients and other business development efforts and be expected to assume a high degree of responsibility and exposure within the firm.
We are seeking the following:
Candidates with a CA or other accounting/professional designation;
Completion of the CICA In-Depth Tax course;
Strong technical tax knowledge and research capabilities as a result of 7-10 years experience advising Canadian real estate companies on their tax planning and compliance needs;
Real estate industry knowledge obtained from working in or advising public or private clients;
Strong interpersonal and client service delivery skills
Experience dealing with Public and Private companies
Desire to work in team environment - working with multi-disciplinary tax and advisory teams
