Reach International is working with this Global Accountancy firm to appoint a Senior Manager into their Corporate Tax team based in Qatar.
The Role
In their Tax practice, this firm uses our in-depth technical knowledge, and our understanding of how tax fits into the broader business picture, to work with their clients to help them manage their taxation burden.
They assist their clients to realize their planning opportunities and meet their compliance responsibilities across a wide range of areas, including corporate tax, transfer pricing, indirect taxes, employment taxes, and much more.
Key responsibilities:
Business Development (BD)
* Targeting new clients and existing non-tax clients for business opportunities, both in Qatar and also internationally for expansion outside Qatar, whether in the Middle East or elsewhere.
* Focusing on sectors where there is synergy between tax and existing client work such as in the financial sector, M&A tax (corporate finance/transaction services). Exposure to Real Estate sector would also be useful. Experience of international tax planning is important as Qatar entities increasingly invest outside the country.
? Raising awareness of the firm's brand in tax ? through creative and effective use of seminars, press releases and other public visibility in the market.
? Taking advantage of BD opportunities from the new QFC (Qatar Financial Centre) tax regime . A key initiative, which the individual must help drive forward.
Delivery
? Turning round advice on complex issues in a tight timescale, and ensuring it is punchy, technically accurate and meets the client's tax and commercial needs.
? Managing compliance ? both QFC (see above); and mainstream compliance.
Management, including staff management and training
? Financial management ? WIP and debtors
? Budgeting ? quarterly updates on billing/WIP/forecasts etc
? Coaching / performance management of the junior members of the tax team,
? Ensuring that risk management for tax assignments is understood by the tax team.
The Candidate
* Strong Corporate Tax experience in another jurisdiction
* From a prominent accountancy or consulting firm background
* A willingness to get up to speed quickly with the mainstream and QFC tax in Qatar
* Exposure to ideally the Financial Services and Real Estate sectors
* Experience in M&A Tax, and International Tax
