This new position offers a high degree of autonomy to set up the companyВ’s indirect tax function across EMEA, Asia-Pac and Latin America. The successful candidate will be the primary indirect tax contact for the senior management across these regions. The role will ensure indirect tax compliance, minimise indirect tax risk, accelerate indirect tax related cash refunds and minimise indirect tax related cash cost.
The role will develop and implement consistent and comprehensive indirect tax strategies, tools, procedures and solutions to optimise the companyВ’s indirect tax burden & compliance efforts; and also recommend and implement process improvements. As the company moves towards a global ERP system, you will ensure VAT compliance of the companyВ’s ERP systems. You will monitor developments in indirect tax legislation and identify and pursue indirect tax planning opportunities. An important aspect is to provide regional and local staff with the tools, training and the central competency to maintain indirect tax compliance. International travel should be expected.
You will assist the regional and local finance staff with indirect tax audits, provide indirect tax advice to the business units and proactively partner with the business units during evaluation and implementation of new business opportunities.
Strong ERP and systems knowledge is essential to fulfil this position. You will need a good understanding of SAP and a minimum of 6 yearsВ’ international indirect tax experience. It is expected that the ideal candidate will be currently working in a Big 4 firm within the VAT compliance team at Manager or Senior Manager level. Alternatively, you may be already working in industry and be looking to join a company with an enviable reputation, where you can make a real impact on the business.
