This is a fantastic opportunity for an expatriate tax specialist to join a FTSE 100 business for a 12 months maternity contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of the company's expatriate tax activities in the UK and also provide ad-hoc assistance on global expatriate tax issues. There is also potential to work on UK employment tax issues. Key relationships include working closely with the HR International Mobility (HRIM) team as well as other HR (e.g. Reward, Pensions, Share Schemes, Line HR), Legal, Finance and Tax Teams, the business, external tax consultants and HMRC.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Helping to ensure the company is both compliant and optimised in all areas of expatriate taxes in the UK.
* Responsibility for the identification, management & monitoring of the risks for the company's expatriate UK tax issues.
* Managing the relationship with external tax provider and HRIM in connection to the provision of UK tax compliance services.
* Co-ordinating the review of hypothetical tax calculation templates for countries where required.
* Managing the tax compliance aspects of the expatriate UK tax return process to include: working with HRIM on agreeing the UK tax return eligibility list, agreeing employee communications, ensuring Tax review and sign off of compensation data.
* Modified PAYE - Working with HRIM and external tax consultants to ensure smooth running of the modified PAYE
* Corresponding with the external tax consultants, and where required HMRC, with regards to enquiries relating to company expatriates.
* Managing the process to track, monitor and determine the tax liability in respect of the company's short term business visitors to the UK.
* Helping to manage the compliance issues in respect of expatriate Social Security.
* Working on ad-hoc projects in expatriate and employment taxes.
